2:40 PM Roy Hill’s Commitment to Building a Culture of Innovation: Delivering a Train Control Solution in a Start-Up Railway Utilising Today’s Technology

Roy Hill is a world-class iron ore mining, rail and port operation in the Pilbara, delivering 55 million tonnes per annum through an integrated systems approach to operations. Roy Hill has a unique position as the youngest heavy haul railway in Australia and so built their networks from the ground up, including their train control management systems. This session explores their implementation of the latest ETCS systemsincluding an exploration into the innovations own challenges, including how Roy Hill adapted a European system to work within the Pilbara environment based on a different climate and operational environment.

  • How Roy Hill delivered ERTS Moving Block as a Positive Train Control solution, the first in Australia, into the Pilbara Based heavy-haul environment;
